THE CYFAC PROCESS

It is rare to find a brand that has stuck to its morals to expertly craft products by hand using methods perfected over decades yet continues to evolve and improve.  Cyfac started hand-making frames in 1982 as a frame-builder to the sport’s top professionals.  Beneath the sponsorship and paint, frames were custom made to spec and up until 2004, 1/3 of the European professional peloton were supplied frames by Cyfac.   Cyfac has a rich heritage with victories in famous races such as the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, La Vuelta a Espana, World Championships, Paris-Roubaix… the list goes on.

At the forefront of innovation, Cyfac were the first frame builder to:

-          TIG-weld aluminium frames (still the most popular method)

-          The first European builder to make custom Ti frames

-          The builder of the first custom carbon frameset (completely lug-less)

Cyfac continues to TIG-weld alloy and hand-wrap carbon frames today with decades of passion and experience.  Cyfac selects the best materials from suppliers such as Columbus, Reynolds and Toray to handcraft durable and dynamic frames that provide performance and enjoyment.  No matter what material is used, Cyfac frames are constructed in the advanced tube-to-tube method which requires more time and experience versus the current popularity of monocoque construction.  The benefits is a longer-lasting frame without the ”dead” feeling of many others.

The skill and methods to constructing a carbon-fibre frame differs greatly to that of the steel frames but the ideology remains the same.  Using experienced workers (some have been with Cyfac for 30 years), use only the highest quality materials and ensure the quality control is second-to-none.  Frame manufacturing is evolving but is fundamentally the same as it was decades ago; it is the attention to detail and exceeding customer expectations that sets Cyfac frames apart.

Once constructed, each frame is hand-sanded then has individual decals applied.  Not a single sticker is applied to the frame which means you can adapt and change the colours and design on any frame.  Add a line, invert a colour, have a matte or glossy finish… it’s up to you.  The painstaking task of applying decals and airbrushing paint is done by the paint team at Cyfac whom cherish the ability to make your perfect design come to life.  If you have a custom design or logo in mind, odds are they can do it.

The result.  A perfect handmade frame built to the highest standards using the best quality materials with the ride qualities you are looking for.
